A Theodore Levitt, professor of marketing at Harvard University in 1963 asked the question, "What business are you really in?"  That answer became a solid marketing analysis tool ever since.  He found that people buy based on the deeper motivation of their human needs - not the product or service in itself which facilities meeting those human needs. 

This is fundamental to understanding how you are going to earn a living playing music and getting paid for what you do.  Do you know the answer to the question?
